Awesome lip balms that I absolutely adore
Some people might say that in the recent year or so I have developed quite an obsession over lip balms. Like most people my lips tend to get very dry during the colder months. But we must not forget that our lips (just as our skin) needs constant moisture. Typically I would recommend a lip balm with an SPF during summer, however I never felt the need to use SPF on my lips - oooh shocker! But if you're more on the sensitive side when it comes to UVA-UVB rays, then I 100% recommend you put on some SPF on your lips as well.
NUXE REVE DE MIEL LIP BALM
This one has been raved about by everyone and their mothers (probably even fathers and brothers) so it shouldn't come off as a surprise. This little gem from the French pharmacies is a staple on my bedside table. I couldn't imagine going to sleep without it anymore. It keeps my lips moisturised through the entire night. When I wake up I can still feel it working its magic on my lips. My favourite thing about it is the texture though, as it's not like any other lip balms that I tried (and I tried many). The only downside I can think of is the packaging, as firstly it's not the most hygienic (which is why I only use this at night after I wash my hands) and secondly some ingredients might not be as powerful after the jar has been opened. Apart from that, it does what it says on the box. This contains some great moisturising ingredients, such as Beeswax, a few oils, Shea Butter and of course, honey. Slovenian readers can buy this in Maxi. You can find it online on FeelUnique and it retails at €13.40.

WELEDA EVERON LIP BALM
Honestly this one was purchased on a whim as I forgot to take any lip balms with me back home to my parent's place. A friend of mine raved about Weleda and I decided to try their lip balm out. I must say that I was a bit surprised at how great it turned out to be! You know when you buy something on a whim you usually low-key expect it to not be that great. This was probably one of my best "on a whim" buys ever. I wouldn't say it's as good as the Nuxe one but my lips felt great after using it, it didn't leave any sticky residue as some lip balms tend to do. Normally I would use this one during the day and reapply when needed, as I prefer this packaging for use during the day. This is also a more affordable option than both the Nuxe and Clinique ones. Slovenian readers can buy this in both DM and Muller.
You can find this one on FeelUnique as well and it retails at €6.98.
INGREDIENTS
Jojoba Seed Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Rose Flower Wax, Carnauba Wax, Vanilla Extract, Rose Extract, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Ceraniol, Eugenol*, Farnesol
CLINIQUE SUPERBALM LIP TREATMENT
I love Clinique as a brand (apart from their 3-step program which is a load of BS, but hey they make up for it with their other products) and so one day I decided to try out their lip balm. It's even a bit pricier than the Nuxe one and if you told me a few years ago that I'd spend that much on a lip balm I'd say you're crazy. Luckily I grow to realise the importance of proper skincare. First I'd just like to say how much I love the packaging. It's liquified and you have to squeeze the product out of the tube, which I personally find very hygienic (unlike Nuxe, sorry Reve De Miel, I still love you). I find this moisturises my lips perfectly, I'd say it's quite on par with the Nuxe one, to be honest. It contains a solid set of antioxidant ingredients that are very beneficial. It does however leave a slightly glossy finish, but I don't find it very noticeable. Slovenian readers can buy this in Muller.
Online you can find it on Nordstrom (it's sold out on FeelUnique right now) and it sells at €14.50 (cheaper than on FeelUnique and Muller).
INGREDIENTS
Petrolatum; Polybutene; Polydecene; Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2; Octyldodecanol; Microcrystalline Wax; Tocopheryl Acetate; Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate; Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extra; Cholesterol; Hordeum Vulgare (Barley) Extract; Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Extract; Squalene; Linoleic Acid; Tetinyl Palmitate; Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Extract; Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate; Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate; Betula Alba (Birch) Extract; Hexylene Glycol; Potassium Sulfate; Caprylyl Glycol; Phenoxyethanol; Red 7 Lake; Yellow 5 Lake
Personally I love each and every one of these lip balms and I suppose it depends on your needs. If you want a slightly glossier finish and a tube packaging then I'd say the Clinique one is perfect. For a more matte finish Nuxe is your man (or woman). Weleda is a slightly cheaper alternative (it also has a more matte finish) but it's not as moisturising as the other two and not as powerful in antioxidants.
Do you have some lip balms that you're currently in love with?
