Adventure Time: Daktari

It's ADVENTURE TIME in Narcissland! The story behind the Adventure time goes something like this: you know that feeling when you seem stuck in this place and nothing seems to move forward, every day seems like the exact same copy of the one before and you just feel completely unmotivated to do anything at all? Well, that's how I've been feeling lately and it was right about time to change it up, spice my life up with a little bit of adventure time (though nothing too adventurous in the style of miss Croft or Indiana Jones, I'm afraid). My every so lovely friend Ana Ina from Lovely Little Lux-uries is the person behind today's photography on Narcis, as I ever so amazingly forgot to grab my camera from home (yaaaay Narcis, you're a genius!), and she's also my partner in crime in the Adventure time series. We were both feeling stuck in the same old, same old daily routine and together we came up with the idea to discover new locations once every week and since we're both bloggers, we thought why not get the whole blogging world involved. You can also see her version of the series titled City Life over on her blog every Thursday.
We started the entire thing off at this amazingly cosy and charming cafe called Daktari. I remember the first time she took me there I was completely mesmerised, as we were sitting inside that time and you just couldn't believe how gorgeous everything is in this little place, it has a life of its own let me tell you. This time as Spring is making it's glamorous debut we opted for the outside terrace and sunbathe a little along the way. We both decided for the same order from the menu, and as you can see from the picture above we went for some delicious coffee with (rice) milk and a healthy little brunch avocado and hummus sandwich. I might as well say that we're both slowly beginning to switch up our eating habits into something more healthy for our bodies, and this was a great beginning to a fresh and healthier lifestyle.
The avocado and hummus sandwich (1) was an absolute delight, and it's worth to mention that they have home baked bread, so they deserve a round of applause for that, if you ask me. They have amazing other things on the menu that I'm just dying to get my hands on the next time we visit, and it ranges from Muesli, fresh sandwiches in many different tastes, croissants, and even ice creams! It also brings me great pleasure that they offer different varieties of milk (soy, rice, etc.) as it fits with my new healthier lifestyle without me having to compromise my daily caffeine intake. Currently my favourite one is rice milk coffee (2), as I'm not the biggest soy milk fan out there.

Above you can see me trying to pretend to be Slovenia's next top model (though not sure if Tyra Banks would think I'm smiling with my eyes enough) and I just love how alive the city looks behind me, as it typically does in this area.
I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised with Daktari's offer, especially their avocado and hummus sandwich, as I'm a sucker for anything hummus, in fact I almost prefer hummus over pizza (almost)! You can visit this little cafe if you ever find yourself in Ljubljana over at Krekov trg 7, and let me assure you that there is no way that you could go away disappointed. Next time I really want to take the funicular railway to the top of the Castle Hill, as it looks astonishing and the view would make for really amazing photography!
I really hope you enjoyed the first part in the Adventure time series, and the excessive amount of pictures (again credited to Ana Ina) and do let me know if you'd like to see more posts of this type in the future.
What is your favourite brunch place? Do you enjoy trying out new places around your town?
