Thursday Tunes // 001
Music is one of the easiest ways for me to relax and just wind off. Whether it is something in the likes of an upbeat song like Nicki Minaj's Anaconda, or something much more relaxing like Debussy's Clair de Lune, it is safe to say that music is a huge part of my life. Which is why I decided, after seeing similar posts on AfterDRK and many others, that it might be a good idea to implement the music I listen to on Narcis Blog, as it's as big (if not bigger) part of my daily life as everything else posted before. Cue the Thursday Tunes.
001. Jessie J ft. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj — Bang Bang
When this remix came out it was all over my tumblr dashboard. Perhaps it's because most of the people I follow are crazy about both Beyonce and Nicki, and therefore this was the creme de la creme of music at that point. I have to admit that I loved it on first listen, and that is a rare for me, to be honest. It is just one of those upbeat songs that cheer me up and make me stand on my feet and dance crazily in my room.
002. CHVRCHES — Lungs
Oh, Chvrches, how much I love you guys. I remember hearing about them from Charlie Carver, you know one of the twins from Desperate Housewives, or the twin from Teen Wolf, now he can be seen on The Leftovers (and no, sadly enough this isn't sponsored by him). I fell in love with this band, and the distinctive vocals of the lead singer. Lungs is one of my favourite songs from their album The Bones of What You Believe, sharing the top spots with the likes of Lies and Recover (the first song I heard from them).
003. FKA Twigs — Closer
Just how I said the ***Flawless remix was all the rage on my tumblr dashboard, the same thing happened with FKA Twigs, even though her style of music can't be compared to the likes of either Beyonce nor Nicki, and it's typically just my style of music, as it's much more softer and relaxing, at least in my opinion (***Flawless remix is still one of my most played songs though). Closer is my second favourite on the album LP1, however recently it's been my go-to song.
004. Frett — Copy Cat
This is an old favourite, I found out about this song a while ago on some Indie website that publishes new and up coming bands/albums/songs, and this one hit a very good note with me. Lately I have been feeling quite nostalgics when it comes to my iTunes library, and have revisited songs I haven't listened to in a while, and Copy Cat stood out the most.
005. Troye Sivan — Gasoline
Well, do I really have to explain this one? We probably all know the adorable Troye, right? I purchased his EP as soon as I could, and he shot straight into the tops of my most played songs. Even though Happy Little Pill is my favourite, due to it being very relatable to me, albeit we'll talk about that some other day, but lately I just spent more time listening to Gasoline than any other song on the EP. And the EP in general is just great, in my opinion.
And you can listen to the songs with Spotify under the read more link. See you next week for more Thursday Tunes.
