I Wish Upon a Falling Star...
When it comes to skincare it would be safe to say that my cabinet isn't exactly lacking anything in particular (except a serum as I'm shockingly missing that in my skincare routine) but one can't have too many facial masks, exfoliators and acne solutions for those pesky times when your skin is just feeling a bit meh, right? My skincare routine is always my favourite part of the day, be it the morning or night, it always feels amazing to massage a cleanser into your skin and just give it that plumpness with some treatments and moisture. I have also been on a hunt for a good morning cleanser that would return vitality into my skin so that I don't walk around the town looking like a zombie straight out of the Walking Dead. I mean I wish I could simply say that I woke up like this without any effort whatsoever, but the truth is that I usually wake up with enormous bags under my eyes and my face just needs a good wake me up session first thing in the morning, even before I manage to get my first cup of coffee.
I kept this wish list to just those few essentials that I want to add to my skincare arsenal, nothing too extreme but just the things that I'm patiently awaiting to purchase before summer properly begins. We all want our skin to look as good as possible all year round but in the summer I think we just want to shine (though not with our oily faces but with that healthy glow).
1. CLINIQUE ACNE SOLUTIONS CLINICAL CLEARING GEL (15ml €18,90, 30ml €26,50) This acne treatment has been all the range in the blogosphere lately, so you have probably stumbled across it not once but a thousand times already. Right now the only acne treatment that I have in my skincare bag is the Lush Grease Lightning, and I just want to give this one a shot as the reviews are fantastic and even though my skin is usually in a better condition during the warmer days, I can get an occasional breakout on my chin and forehead due to my combination skin.
2. AESOP PARSLEY SEED FACIAL CLEANSING MASK (60ml €33,29) The Aesop parsley seed mask has also been gathering quite some attention lately, or at least it appears very frequently on my feed. For me summer is the time when my cleansing routine is relatively light, especially the cleansing step and therefore a cleansing mask is much needed to just give the face a nice deep cleanse every now and again. Plus we have to admit that the Aesop packaging is just super gorgeous and this would look insanely good on any skincare stand.
3. JURLIQUE PURELY BRIGHT CLEANSER (100ml €23,40) A cleanser that promises to leave your skin looking brighter, smoother and with a more even complexion? Just go ahead and take my money because I desperately need that in my life! And Jurlique is just one of those brands that everyone is talking about, they are very natural focused and typically their products have a good set of ingredients so I'm really interested in trying out this cleanser as it just looks perfect for spring and summer, if you ask me.
4. ALPHA-H LIQUID GOLD (100ml €38,86) Well, Liquid Gold has been on my skincare wish list for ages now and yet I somehow never managed to get it, I think it might be because I'm sometimes too impatient to order things online and I can't get it anywhere in stores around here. But right now I'm coming to that stage where I simply can't contain myself anymore and you can bet that I'll soon click that dreaded Add to bag button, I swear! As you all probably know, Liquid Gold is a night serum that supposedly revitalises your skin and firms it after just one application. After using Liquid Gold you don't follow with your moisturiser as you typically would and you're supposed to use it only every two to three nights, depending on the sensitivity of your skin. And always use an SPF the next day as this contains Glycolic Acid and is a chemical exfoliant.
5. CLAYSPRAY GLOW RED CLAY WITH CACAO MASQUE (30ml €19,10, 75ml €44,60, 125ml €56,70) As I said one can never have too many masks in their skincare collection, and for the longest time the Clayspray masks were unavailable to me as I couldn't even find a site online that would deliver it to my country, until I finally found it on BeautyBay and now it's just waiting for me. I don't know if anyone notices the pattern here but I think it's obvious that most of these products aim to add a boost of radiance to my skin, and this red clay mask with cacao is just no different. It's also free from parabens, artificial colourings and fragrance, which is something that my skin always really appreciates so this is definitely a must buy mask for me. Plus it's currently on offer on BeautyBay so it's all very very tempting!
6. FIRST AID BEAUTY FACIAL RADIANCE PADS (60 pads €26,65) Just like the Liquid Gold these pads are chemical exfoliants that also contain Glycolic Acid although in lower quantities and therefore they are much milder and appropriate to use every day, although I would personally use them in the mornings when I'm not using Liquid Gold as too much exfoliation can be harmful to the skin. This one is followed by a moisturiser unlike Liquid Gold.
