My Top 5 Most Used Apps
Since I'm currently struggling with the last weeks of classes before the exam period begins, I find myself more and more in a state where I keep rethinking if perhaps college wasn't the greatest idea of all times. Yet I can't help but to feel like that's just the negative thoughts joining forces inside my head due to being overstressed with last minute projects and the always building pile of books on my desk. Anyone else feel like this right before exam period begins? But forgive me for the mumbling, let's focus more on the entire point of this post, which shockingly enough isn't college and exam periods, but instead it's all about the phone apps that I end up using the most. I honestly believe that I would be completely lost without my iPhone, as probably many people do, and at the same time it makes me feel like I depend way too much on it and am becoming co-dependent which is just not something that I like to apply to myself, in whatever contest.
EVERNOTE (free in App Store and Android) is one of those apps that I struggled to get along with at first. Everyone was raving on and on about how much they love this app and that they couldn't live without it, and I was just sitting there thinking to myself that I simply do not get it. Partly I still don't, as there are so many functions to this app that I still don't fully understand, and it annoys me that I just can't use it to its full potential. Yet slowly I started using it more and more when I was on the go and struggling to get my notebook out of my messenger bag was just too much of a hustle. It syncs great with other devices, you can scan documents and save them in the app itself for a later read, and I just can't count all the fantastic features it holds. Evernote is basically my secondary notebook.
CALM (free in App Store) is more of a recent discovery and I can't even remember how I came across it, probably it happened during one of my typical browses through the App store as I tend to do whenever I procrastinate. What Calm does, as the name would suggest, is that it holds a number of different calming programs, you have everything from anxiety release, confidence, creativity, energy, etc. Whatever you need help with when it comes to your mood, chances are high that Calm will have a solution for you. The programs combine elements of sound and visual, which you can also customise ever so slightly to fit your mood even better. For me this is just one of those apps that I turn on whenever I have problem sleeping, and sometimes it also helps when I just can't bring myself to concentrate on my studies. Calm is also available on the web HERE.
TO BED (free in App Store) is just as fantastic as it sounds. Okay, perhaps a little less as it doesn't exactly tuck you in bed and tell you a bedtime story, but it's functional enough for me, at least. The main point of To Bed is that it notifies you when you should go to bed after calculating how many hours you should sleep based on your profile and the hour you have to get up in the morning. Bonus points because it lets you sleep in during weekends, if you wish. Now that exam period is about to start I need a constant reminder that I should get myself to bed, otherwise I might just end up awake until sunrise. And we all know how important beauty sleep is, right? Not just for the beauty aspect (though yes please!) but also for your concentration and energy the next day. We're not robots after all, are we (trust me, sometimes I wish I was).
7 MINUTE WORKOUT (free in App Store and Android) is currently that app that I'm literally trying to use as often as possible. It's just what it says, a 7 minute workout routine, but what I love about it is that it comes with a voice guide to help you through those painful 7 minutes, and you have the option to choose between different routines (7 minute workout, smart workout, etc.) Personally I use the 7 minute one the most as I can easily fit it between studying, attending college, social life, or any other plans during the day. Sometimes I would also try the smart workout, as it customises itself based on your level and motivation, which I just find is amazing. Here's to a fitter summer body!
And the list just wouldn't be complete without a procrastinating app/game and that is WALKING DEAD (free in App Store and Android). At first I spend hours watching PewDiePie play it on his youtube channel before I realised that it's available for both my phone and my tablet, and I just couldn't resist it, you know? We all need that one thing that will aid our procrastinating habits and whenever I find myself sitting in a really boring class I would just end up playing this, however it's not the same with the sound off, so I would use headphones if possible. It's a story based game and it gives you some control, although there are also parts controlled by the game or a already set in stone plot line, if you will. However, I find it quite amusing and it's more up my alley than Candy Crush or that annoying Flappy Bird game that everyone was obsessing about recently. At least this doesn't drive me insane half as much.
As you may notice there are no Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etc. apps up there, and it's not because I wouldn't constantly use them but because we are all very much familiar with those, we all use them on a regular basis and including them here just felt like a massive waste of time both for you and me. Instead I try to focus on apps that I don't think get much recognition but I personally think they should.
If anyone would like to see my most used apps on my tablet, you can let me know and I can put that up together in the near future as well, as some apps are different, as Android and iOS don't always have the exact same apps.
What are some of your favourite apps at the moment?

I'm definitely checking out that 7 minutes working out app. My favorite apps, for iOs, right now are Afterlight and 8tracks.

It's an awesome way to begin with exercise, even for some who hasn't exercised in literally ages. I totally forgot about 8tracks, and I've been meaning to spare those few cents on Afterlight, the filters look amazing.
DeleteEvernote is also one of my top used apps on iPhone. I downloaded the rest of the apps from the list, cause I don't have any of them, so I can give them a try. :)
